Private Markets SME, NAV Production (Fund Accounting and Administration)

MUFG Investor ServicesToronto, ON
CA$91,500 - CA$136,500

About The Position

This is a Solution Analyst role within the NAV production project organization, bringing deep fund accounting and NAV knowledge into the front-end of complex work. The role covers NAV production across all fund types, with a particular focus on candidates with strong private markets and private equity experience. The role sits within the Tech Solutions organization as a deployable analytical and subject-matter-expert resource, not permanently embedded in any one project or squad, but deployed more widely against the NAV production pipeline of complex work.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements in a financial services or asset servicing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of alternative investment fund services, with a solid understanding of Private Equity or private markets structures, accounting, processes, and life cycles.
  • Demonstrable fund accounting and NAV knowledge.
  • Experience extracting business requirements using standard methodologies and translating them into clear solution intent and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to model business processes and produce analytical artifacts — process models, use cases, procedural guides, and scenarios.
  • Strong analytical judgment — knowing what to look at, what to ignore, and when analysis is good enough to act on.
  • Credibility with both business and technical stakeholders, with the ability to hold a view under questioning.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong, hands-on Investran expertise is highly valued and will distinguish leading candidates, given its central role in our current platform estate.
  • Experience with other private markets or fund accounting platforms — such as LemonEdge, Yardi, eFront, or Geneva — is also relevant and welcomed.
  • Deeper private markets / private equity domain knowledge — NAV oversight, capital calls and distributions, and waterfall calculations.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted analysis and discovery tooling.
  • Experience of platform implementation, configuration, or migration projects.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the domain SME and analytical lead for applications supporting NAV production across fund types, with particular depth in private equity and private markets operating models.
  • Bring deep NAV production knowledge — across valuations, capital activity, waterfall and allocation mechanics — to the front-end shaping of solutions, so that the work handed to delivery teams reflects how NAV production actually operates and where it can be improved.
  • Conduct front-end analysis of complex work — feasibility, operating-model implications, data quality, and readiness — before a delivery team picks the work up.
  • Collaborate across stakeholder groups to define and document business requirements, translating current-state analysis, requirements, and gaps into a clear solution intent.
  • Go and get the information needed to do the analysis directly — querying data, reviewing system configuration and behavior, and running analysis using AI tooling where it helps, rather than waiting for others to provide answers.
  • Work alongside Solution Owners at the front-end of complex work to shape intent and acceptance criteria for the parts of the work that carry the most complexity.
  • Represent technical limitations and implementation realities back to business stakeholders, and business intent back to engineers — translating in both directions.
  • Identify risks a delivery team would not otherwise see — data gaps, downstream impacts, operational-readiness concerns, and regulatory implications.
  • Partner with Integration Quality Engineers on cross-team and cross-solution test scenarios that no single team can cover.
  • Support adoption readiness where value realization depends on more than the build — communications, training, data clean-up, and operational change — particularly where readiness work spans teams.
  • Recognize patterns across the business area — recurring themes, overlaps, and opportunities for reuse — feeding roadmap shaping.
  • Create and maintain supporting product documentation, including system overviews, functional narratives, and use cases.

Benefits

  • continuous learning and development
  • collaborative team work environment
  • promotion of work-life integration
  • exposure to a wide variety of work
