Requirements

  • 10-15 years of private equity experience at endowment or foundation investment office, OCIO, family office, consultant or other highly respected institution
  • Experience investing and managing funds, co-investments and secondary transactions
  • Strong client orientation with an ability to understand the perspectives of different types of institutional investors
  • Ability to effectively advise a sophisticated group of institutional clients and their investment committees
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with strong investment acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills
  • The inclination to contribute, mentor, provide and receive constructive feedback, and partner with others on an ongoing basis
  • Broad understanding of economic trends and capital markets events that impact investment portfolios
  • High degree of comfort working in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong academic credentials. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. MBA and CFA
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and problem-solving skills
  • Energetic, forward-looking, and positive by nature
  • Readiness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead the active management of a new $4 billion multi-client portfolio consisting of over 85 material funds and 34 material co-investments with 45 distinct private equity firms held through 18 investment vehicles
  • Direct a thorough underwriting of the portfolio and prepare a comprehensive hold sell/analysis
  • Underwrite and originate recommendations on future investments with the existing managers in the portfolio
  • Source co-investments and secondaries from the existing managers in the portfolio
  • Coordinate and make recommendations on any fund amendments and continuation vehicles decisions
  • Coordinate Annual Meeting attendance with the Private Markets team and attend meetings as required
  • Meet either in person or virtually with the clients as required with the expectations that meetings would be held no less than quarterly
  • Review all client reporting and create bespoke reports where necessary
  • Work with the Private Markets team to develop appropriate future investment strategies and investment pace for the client, estimated to exceed $100 million per annum
  • Assist in hiring and mentoring a new Associate and Analyst to be assigned to the Portfolio Manager in managing the portfolio
  • Work closely with the Private Markets team on achieving the clients’ objectives
  • Expectations for the position to be fully integrated with private markets team over time
