About The Position

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable low brass instructor (trombone, baritone) to join their team at the Hanover studio. This is an opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that values education. The role involves teaching engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels, creating a positive and encouraging lesson environment, and helping students grow musically and prepare for performance opportunities.

Requirements

• A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
• Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication
• Confidence and effectiveness in delivering one-on-one instruction
• Excellent organization and time management
• Comfortability using a digital scheduling system
• Warm, energetic, and professional presence that reflects our culture and mission
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply

Responsibilities
