About The Position

The Private Grant Manager will be responsible for researching, writing, submitting, post-award management, and stewarding grant awards under $120,000. The manager will also be responsible for assisting the Fundraising teams of the organization in securing the annual budget total of $4.15 million[KP1] in private grants. Additionally, this position will provide reporting support and program assistance for special grant initiatives, including documentation management and fulfillment of reporting requirements.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent, required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with grant writing and grant management required.
A high level of computer literacy including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel required.
Candidates must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
Excellent research, organizational, and communications skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.
Ability to communicate and follow effectively in both written and verbal form.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Sensitivity to needs of youth and diverse ethnic populations.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, possible fingerprinting, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Manage portfolio of grants $120,000 and under as well as assisting with the writing of all private grants to meet the total annual budget goal of $1.6 million.
Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and supporting documents.
Create and maintain a calendar of annual grant reporting requirements and regulations, ensuring compliance through proactive communication with relevant teams and stakeholders. Coordinate and ensure the timely completion and submission of all required reports. Provide program level support for private grants including clearly communicating timelines, requirements, spend-down plans and overall grant management needs. This will also include training and technical assistance for site coordinators and program monitoring.
Coordinate, track and document the progress of submitted proposals.
Lead in post-award management of grants $120,000 and under while also assisting with the reporting for all awarded private grants.
Collaborate with the Public Funding Manager to coordinate financial reporting support from the Grant Accounting Clerk. Additionally, ensure program budgets are aligned to prevent overlaps or gaps in funding across affiliates and schools. Produce programmatic and fiscal grant reports as requested, ensuring that all reports are complete, accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other departments and affiliate leads to develop grant proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and grantor guidelines. Monitor budgets and advise on progress to meet incremental targets.
Gather and interpret data to align with grant proposals and reporting.
Maintain detailed records and documents for all grants and billing activities to ensure compliance with grant awards
Assist with routine audits and compliance monitoring of and by grantors.
Research and maintain a prospect list and grants submission calendar for grants $120,000 and under.
Support in prospect research to identify, cultivate and solicit new grants. Assist with researching grant-making organizations research and fit analysis to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs.
Develop and implement a stewardship plan for current and potential funders.
In collaboration with department and affiliate leads, actively implement partnership efforts with grantors.
Demonstrate impeccable verbal and written communication skills across a wide audience of stakeholders.
