About The Position

Responsibilities will include planning, executing, and overseeing grant writing projects within the Grant Writing Division. Providing continual oversight of writing teams to assure grant writing projects are on schedule and submitted on time in line with KJA policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience managing the entire project lifecycle from grant writing or proposal development through the submission process is required.
  • 7 – 10 years of grant writing and development is required.
  • Strong management experience (5+ years managing multiple teams).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be extremely precise and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and possess the skills necessary to interact effectively and courteously with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Become quickly proficient in Asana or other project management software and grant database management programs.
  • Experience with multiple technology and software platforms, including, but not limited to:
  • Microsoft 365 applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
  • Virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom)
  • Adobe Pro
  • Dropbox & Google Docs
  • Asana Project Management software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the grant production pipeline, ensuring timely submission of grants.
  • Monitor the Master Spreadsheet daily, keeping the DO up to date on the progress of all grant projects.
  • Assure writing team compliance with deadlines and activities related to grant proposal development.
  • Compile relevant department data and report to DO.
  • Work with the DO, HR, and TCs to identify and hire new staff.
  • Supervise and conduct performance reviews for Team Coordinators.
  • Provide coverage for Team Coordinator’s in their absence to ensure team pipeline coverage.
  • Develop proposals and conduct QA reviews, as needed, to support overflow.
  • Meet with Project Management to assign special/complex assignments and identify coverage as needed.
  • Work with DO to develop, enhance, and/or suggest improvements to Company standard operating procedures and tools.
  • Identify and support training and mentoring needs to enhance staff retention.
  • Work with the DO and HR to coordinate and facilitate training for Team Coordinator’s and Grant Specialists, as needed, to increase skill levels, efficiency, and performance.
  • Work with the Director of Client Success to ensure client satisfaction with project-related activities.
  • Alert Director of Client Success and DO to any client issues and work to resolve these issues to the benefit of KJA.
  • Ensure grant writing staff is following all company procedures.
  • Review and approve TC timesheets.

Benefits

  • Minimum of 40 hours of Paid Sick Time (PST), based on state of residency, frontloaded and available for use at the beginning of each calendar year. New employees starting during the year will receive a pro-rated amount of PST hours based on their start date.
  • Up to 80 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) each calendar year, accrued at 3.33 hours per payperiod, for FT Employees.
  • Up to 40 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) each calendar year, accrued at 1.67 hours per payperiod, for PT Employees.
  • 80 hours of Paid Vacation Time after one year of continuous employment, frontloaded on work anniversary date for FT employees. (PT = 20 hours.)
  • 120 hours of Paid Vacation Time, frontloaded on the work anniversary date, after your 5th year of continuous employment for FT employees. (PT remains 20 hours.)
