About The Position
BrightStar Care Louisville is hiring for an immediate Private Duty Nurse (RN/LPN) need in the Louisville, KY area. This role involves 2:1 private duty care with a quadriplegic adult patient, meaning one nurse and one aide will care for one client. Full and part-time shifts are available for days, nights, overnights (3rd shift), and weekends for both RNs and LPNs. The position offers a $2000 sign-on bonus and a Weekend WOW Incentive of an additional $5/hr for two 12-hour weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Current unrestricted RN or LPN license in Kentucky
- Certified CPR or BLS
- Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
- Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required with bedside care preferred
- Experience with g-tubes, trachs/vent and cath care preferred
- Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
- Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities
- Provide thoughtful care to client & patients based on personalized Plan of Care
- Monitor and track changes in the client/patient’s conditions and needs, and keeps the Nurse Manager and any other appropriate personnel informed
- Proactively updates client/patients’ family on plan of care, health changes, and concerns
- Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and organization skills needed
