About The Position

Private duty home care is different from facility work. You are not responsible for a hallway of patients. You are helping one person at a time with the daily support they need to remain safe and comfortable at home. Assisting Hands Home Care is hiring private duty caregivers, CNAs, and HHAs for in-home care opportunities in Jacksonville, Duval County, and nearby areas. This is a W-2 employee position. It is not a 1099 contractor role or registry position. We are locally owned by a husband and wife team who are active and accessible. We care about doing home care the right way: clear communication, thoughtful caregiver matching, and respect for the people who care for our clients.

Requirements

Active Florida CNA license or HHA certificate
Successful Level II Background Screening
Recent TB screening
Classroom CPR certification
HIV/AIDS training
Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias training
Assistance with Self-Administration of Medication training
Reliable transportation to client homes
Experience caring for seniors or adults who need personal care assistance
Strong communication skills
Professional and dependable attitude

Nice To Haves

Comfort with pets preferred

Responsibilities

Personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Transfer and mobility assistance
Meal preparation
Light housekeeping related to the client
Medication reminders
Companionship and conversation
Help with errands or appointments when included in the care plan
Communicating clearly with the office about changes, concerns, or schedule issues
