About The Position

The purpose of the role is to build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required with the aim of ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. This role ensures the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. The role involves building engineering solutions, managing incidents, implementing automation, ensuring security, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying informed about industry technology trends. For Assistant Vice President expectations, this role involves advising and influencing decision-making, contributing to policy development, taking responsibility for operational effectiveness, collaborating closely with other functions/business divisions, and potentially leading a team. For an individual contributor, the role involves leading collaborative assignments, guiding team members, identifying new directions for assignments/projects, consulting on complex issues, mitigating risk, strengthening controls, performing work that requires understanding of inter-departmental coordination, collaborating with business-aligned support areas, engaging in complex data analysis, communicating complex information, and influencing stakeholders. Requirements

Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products.
Ensure infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure.
Ensure reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technology.
Apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.
Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions.
Identify appropriate technologies and solutions.
Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance.
Drive down mean time to resolution using data.
Develop and implement automated tasks and processes.
Utilize software scripting/coding disciplines.
Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure.
Protect hardware, software, and data from unauthorized access.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers.
Define IT Infrastructure requirements.
Devise solutions and ensure seamless integration.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
Contribute to the organization's technology communities.
Build, support, and maintain Barclays on premise Private Cloud based on VMware Cloud Foundation.
Work via Agile methodology.
Complete vulnerability patching, system upgrades and releases.
Assist Service Operations Cloud Team and client escalations.
Provide incident stack coverage on rotational basis.
Provide a build function when new capacity needs to be allocated.
Interact with clients, discuss, plan out, and implement projects.
Take lead on regularly assigned tasks via the Agile process (JIRAs).
Cover Level 3 type escalations.
Communicate with stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Responsibilities

Build, support, and maintain Barclays on premise Private Cloud based on VMware Cloud Foundation.
Work via Agile methodology, to deliver Cloud related projects to business and other stakeholders.
Maintain the Cloud infrastructure, by completing all vulnerability patching, system upgrades and releases.
Assist Service Operations Cloud Team and client escalations where needed.
Provide incident stack coverage on rotational basis.
Provide a build function as required, when new capacity needs to be allocated.
Interact with the clients, discuss, plan out, and implement projects.
Take lead on regularly assigned tasks via the Agile process (JIRAs) and complete them in a timely manner.
Cover any Level 3 type escalation and be able to discuss it and communicate with the stakeholders when required.
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
