About The Position

The Department of War (DoW) is seeking a financial analyst to lead and coordinate private capital initiatives for the DoW Industrial Base Policy Office. This role is crucial for advancing the DoW's acquisition transformation strategy by developing and delivering a comprehensive Private Capital Playbook. This playbook will guide stakeholders in engaging with private capital providers and integrate investment and impact data for strategic decision-making to strengthen the defense industrial base. The role also involves ongoing maintenance of the playbook and delivery of private capital initiatives. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to fueling the nation's defense industrial base with necessary funding.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with professional private capital
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel for financial analysis, and PowerPoint for executive and corporate-style presentations
  • Experience facilitating working groups and driving consensus
  • Experience with DoW organizational structures and staff procedures
  • Experience with project leadership including a track record of delivering complex projects on schedule
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Finance, Economics, or Government field

  • Experience with private capital markets or mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience in management advising, investment banking, or corporate strategy and development
  • Ability to lead internal teams and hold others accountable to the mission
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal executive communication skills
  • Possession of strong business acumen and financial literacy
  • Master's degree

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate private capital initiatives for the DoW Industrial Base Policy Office.
  • Work directly with the Director and Deputy Directors.
  • Spearhead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Private Capital Playbook.
  • Empower and align stakeholders to engage with private capital providers.
  • Integrate investment and impact data to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain the Private Capital Playbook after its launch.
  • Deliver ongoing private capital initiatives.
