About The Position

This role serves as a self-sufficient, high-level service provider for Relationship Managers' portfolios. The Private Banking Specialist will assist in cultivating both consumer and commercial client relationships by providing products, services, lines of credit, and other banking services. This position supports Relationship Managers to ensure loan processes and related bank relationships are efficient, accurate, and compliant. The specialist will collaborate with Loan Operations, the lending team, clients, and external parties to manage workflow, facilitate timely loan closings, maintain information integrity, and ensure positive client experiences throughout the loan/relationship lifecycle. Responsibilities include handling customer transactions, opening accounts, completing loan paperwork and closings, and answering questions about SouthEast Bank products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior loan processing experience or relevant client care, account, and/or credit experience
  • Understanding of loan documents and terminology
  • Familiarity with loan disclosure requirements
  • Knowledge of loan compliance regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Moderate level of technical aptitude to use computer programs and regular email, internet, and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to operate office equipment, telephones, and computers
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, in person, in writing, and on the computer
  • Ability to hear, speak, and understand verbal communication

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for information management for clients and lenders.
  • Input and update information in systems accurately.
  • Proactively identify client needs and troubleshoot concerns.
  • Provide excellent customer service, seeking proactive solutions and following up on inquiries.
  • Maintain understanding of loan purposes, products, credit, and processing procedures.
  • Ensure Bank information is ready, available, and clearly communicated to clients.
  • Reduce customer wait times and inefficiency by understanding requests and being prepared.
  • Assist clients with banking business, including transactions, opening new accounts, ordering checks, replacing debit cards, transferring money, researching errors, directing clients to other services, and counseling on online banking, bill pay, budgeting, and account balancing.
  • Assist clients with loan service and maintenance issues, including opening accounts, assisting with loan payments, late fees, and updating information.
  • Inform clients about Bank products, including deposit accounts, treasury management services, consumer loans, HELOCs, residential mortgages, business loans, credit cards, merchant services, and real estate loans.
  • Assist the lending team in collecting documents and information for credit and loan functions, including applications, exceptions, reviews, past dues, and maturities.
  • Work closely with loan officer reports to streamline loan processes, maintain accurate data, and provide portfolio/pipeline visibility.
  • Track activity, identify missing information, monitor loan progress, and ensure report accuracy for efficient decision-making.
  • Ensure loan functions are completed and input into Bank loan systems in a timely manner with organized, accurate files.
  • Verify and double-check information for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Assist with credit-related tasks such as CIP, ID verification, loan information sheets, credit reports, tax cards, appraisals, financials, budgets, contracts, collateral values, and application notes.
  • Assist with processing tasks such as flood certifications, insurance monitoring, preparing loan checks, verifying fund transfers, loan documentation, disclosures, and closings.
  • Assist with post-closing tasks such as recording UCCs and perfecting liens.
  • Facilitate transmission and shipment of documents to Centralized Processing.
  • Manage collateral, updated financials, and contact information.
  • Coordinate and schedule loan closings to meet deadlines and policy guidelines.
  • Communicate with clients, lenders, real estate agents, title companies, attorneys, insurance companies, and other departments regarding inquiries, updates, and closing details.
  • Ensure compliance with Bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Assist in pulling reports, filing, and coordinating schedules.
  • Review and adhere to Bank information security guidelines to prevent malware, scams, and fraud.
  • Follow guidelines for securing accounts, access, systems, and information.
  • Proactively identify information security threats and report concerns.
  • Diligently protect confidential information and ensure it is handled appropriately.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, including Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Red Flags, and lending laws.
  • Communicate openly with supervisors about policies, procedures, work conduct, and job functions.
