We are looking for a Private Banking Associate in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for managing and growing a private banking portfolio by delivering tailored credit solutions, monitoring credit performance, and building strong, low‑risk client relationships through exceptional service and cross‑selling.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in banking, finance or a related field and 2+ year of banking services, credit analysis, portfolio management, credit associated lending processes and procedures or other directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
  • Knowledge of banking services, lending, credit analysis, portfolio management preferable in a small business loan environment.
  • Ability to expand loans, client relationships, manage portfolios and cross-sell bank products.
  • Ability to interview applicants and be perceptive of character judgment.
  • Ability to structure loans and monitor credit performance.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of banking products and procedures, small business credit structuring.
  • Strong sales, client product, and relationship management skills.
  • Working knowledge of software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio and/or generating and servicing a wide variety of private banking services, loans and developing strong, low risk relationships while maintaining quality customer service.
  • Functions as an account and relationship manager for new and existing clients.
  • May develop, generate and follow-up on new client leads through existing clients and referrals from other bank departments.
  • May monitor portfolio for past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, problem loans, loan concentrations and portfolio profitability, etc.
  • Calls on existing relationships to review portfolios and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Responsible for sales, credit analysis, proper loan structuring, client interviewing and perceptive character judgment.
  • Responsible for monitoring credit performance.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships, with a resulting high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • May manage a small portfolio.
  • Cross sell other bank products. Other duties as assigned.

  • This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $78,000 - $114,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
