About The Position

This role provides extensive personalized customer service to high-net-worth customers with specific banking needs. The Private Banker analyzes financial status, income, assets, and debts to determine appropriate financial solutions and advises clients on options. They also negotiate loan structures, approve or deny loans within their authority, and prepare loan agreements. The position involves identifying potential markets, developing prospects for private banking loans and deposits, and preparing new accounts. Additionally, the Private Banker assists with customer service issues, acts as a backup for other positions, and continuously enhances their career through work experience and education. Maintaining compliance with laws and regulations, participating in examinations, and adhering to the Information Security Program are crucial. The role also requires establishing a positive bank image in the community and developing a thorough understanding of the bank's products and services to build relationships and exceed expectations.

Requirements

  • Associates (A.A.) degree required, 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to outlying branch areas, as business needs dictate.
  • Regular customer service problem solving using established variables.
  • Close up visual attention to detailed materials and effective hearing/verbal communication skills are needed.
  • Must make accurate visual inspection of printed and/or written materials.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides extensive personalized customer services to high-net-worth customers with specific banking needs.
  • Interviews and analyzes application information to determine proper options; advises customer of products.
  • Analyzes applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to applicant's evaluation.
  • Analyzes applicant financial status, income, assets, investments, debts, credit and property evaluation to determine options and financial solutions to best meet client’s need.
  • Advises applicant regarding options, advantages and disadvantages of options.
  • Determines loan package and negotiates loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
  • Approves or denies loans, up to authorized lending limit.
  • Drafts and prepares agreements in a complete and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for closing and funding activities.
  • Identifies and analyzes potential markets to develop prospects for private banking loans and deposits.
  • Prepare and export new accounts. Ensure required documents are obtained and completed.
  • Assists with various customer service items and complaint resolutions.
  • Serves as a backup for other position(s) and performs other duties, as assigned.
  • Enhances career through work experience and continuing education.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Participates and responds to examinations, audits and third party reviews.
  • Complies with the Information Security Program and is accountable for maintaining a high level of risk and security awareness.
  • Establishes a good image for the Bank by being active and visible in the community.
  • Attends meetings as assigned.
  • Develops a working knowledge of the Bank’s products and services through usage and webex attendance to provide quality customer service while building relationships and exceeding expectations.
