About The Position

Crowe is seeking individuals who are curious, adaptable, and eager to learn to join their Consulting Practice as a Privacy, Data Protection and Compliance Intern. This role focuses on helping clients operationalize privacy programs by conducting privacy assessments and implementing privacy technology platforms and solutions. Interns will gain experience in areas such as consumer requests, personal data inventories, consent collection and notification, and third-party privacy reviews. The position offers opportunities to take risks, challenge oneself in specialized areas of consulting and technology, and generate solutions that impact the firm and professional growth. Interns will have the chance to share ideas and knowledge with clients from their first day. The role involves assisting with the assessment, development, implementation, support, and delivery of risk-based privacy solutions, playing a key role in building new privacy solutions in a dynamic regulatory environment. Responsibilities include mapping data flows and business processes, executing program initiatives to ensure privacy controls and processes are documented, adopted, and implemented for compliance with privacy laws and regulations, policies, and procedures. Interns will also assist with developing processes for responding to consumer privacy requests, implementing privacy software, drafting policies and documentation, implementing common privacy control frameworks (e.g., ISO 27701, CCPA, GDPR, LGPD), documenting and reviewing privacy-related third-party relationships and data flows, and assisting with internal audit programs.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the following preferred majors (or comparable major): Business Administration, Privacy and risk management, Computer Science, Data Management/Data Analytics, Information Security, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or Information Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assessment, development, implementation, support, and delivery of risk-based privacy solutions for clients.
  • Play a key role in building new privacy solutions in a dynamic regulatory environment.
  • Help clients map data flows and business processes.
  • Execute program initiatives to ensure privacy controls and processes are documented, adopted, and implemented to promote compliance with privacy laws and regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with the development of processes for responding to consumer privacy requests.
  • Assist with the implementation of privacy software to handle various requests.
  • Assist with drafting policies, processes, and other documentation (e.g., checklists, guidelines, FAQs) to comply with relevant privacy regulations and frameworks and according to operational needs.
  • Help implement common privacy control frameworks or regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27701, CCPA, GDPR, LGPD, and others) to enhance client data protection programs.
  • Assist with documentation and review of privacy related third-party relationships and data flows.
  • Assist with establishing and handling processes and tools for documenting and tracking compliance.
  • Assist with privacy and data protection internal audit programs.
  • Employ robust business writing skills to effectively develop and present deliverables.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills when consulting with senior management, C-Suite client personnel, and government regulators.
  • Exhibit strong critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and generate solutions.
