About The Position

Join Lovelace Medical Group in Albuquerque, NM, as a day-shift, full-time Prior Authorization Tech. The role provides telephone triage, data entry, and assistance to the Health Services Department to support quality customer service and quality management. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience in direct patient care at a medical office or facility.
Computer training in Word and Excel.
Medical terminology knowledge.
Working knowledge of CPT, HCPC, and ICD-9 codes.
Working knowledge of an ACD telephone system.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant Certification.
Five years of experience in direct patient care at a medical office or facility.

Responsibilities

Provide telephone triage, data entry, and assistance to the Health Services Department.
Receive, screen, manage, resolve, and/or transfer calls.
Assist callers with questions and concerns.
Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Enter authorization and recertification requests accurately, including eligibility, provider status, and benefit interpretations.
