About The Position

At Konza Prairie Community Health Center, your work helps ensure patients receive timely specialty care and critical diagnostic services. We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to manage prior authorizations, referrals, and medical record coordination to support continuity of care and accurate reimbursement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of EMR experience required

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of patient-facing medical experience preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs, and insurance processes preferred
• Family practice or hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain, process, and track prior authorizations for referrals and diagnostic imaging
• Coordinate with insurance companies, hospitals, and specialty providers
• Close referral loops and follow up on consult notes and results
• Manage incoming lab results, imaging reports, faxes, and medical records within the EMR
• Process pharmacy refill requests and provider communications
• Review records for completeness and retrieve missing documentation
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
