About The Position
This role focuses on navigating insurance logistics, empowering patients with clarity on financial responsibilities, coordinating referrals and authorizations, and maintaining meticulous records of billing activities and claims. The goal is to ensure smooth patient care by proactively confirming coverage and securing necessary pre-authorizations.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
- 2+ years of surgical prior authorization experience
Responsibilities
- Proactively confirm coverage and secure necessary pre-authorizations for scheduled procedures.
- Calculate financial responsibilities and have transparent, compassionate conversations with patients and providers regarding insurance limitations or unauthorized services.
- Act as a liaison, keeping both patients and practitioners informed on the status of referrals and authorizations.
- Maintain meticulous records of all billing activities and claims, ensuring accurate daily reconciliation.
