About The Position

The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for manufacturing printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. The operator follows plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines; maintains a clean and safe work area; and produces labels to customer specifications while maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency. The role includes preparing press make-readies, completing quality checks and equipment maintenance, and entering material usage and time information into the GlobeTek system accurately and promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience as a printing press operator and/or training.
• Ability to stand; use hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; and talk and hear.
• Ability to walk frequently.
• Ability to occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Report safety concerns or issues to the immediate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Complete make-ready according to Job Ticket and Product Specification documents, using the correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.
• Complete required product-specification, visual, functional, and press-side quality checks.
• Operate the press to produce products according to customer specifications while maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency.
• Maintain consistent quality during production, including copy, color, registration, ink adhesion, and other required quality checks.
• Complete procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements required by the BRC standard.
• Complete press make-readies efficiently.
• Complete required equipment maintenance duties.
• Clean plates, cylinders, and ink pans, and lubricate the press as needed.
• Enter all required material usage and time information into the GlobeTek system accurately and promptly.
