About The Position

The Print Operations Manager, Flexo/Digital is responsible for leading all Flexographic and Digital Printing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of roll and sheet labels that meet customer requirements and on-time delivery commitments. This role provides leadership for a complex print manufacturing environment that includes Flexographic Printing Presses, Digital Printing Presses, a Flexo/Digital Hybrid Press, Digital Cap Printing equipment, and slitting operations. The Print Operations Manager maintains a strong floor presence, drives operational performance, develops frontline leadership and team members, and ensures production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. The role supports multiple shift structures, including a 7-day rotating Flexo operation and a 5-day, 1st and 2nd shift Digital operation, with the flexibility to support future 24/7 operations as business needs evolve.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience leading multi-shift manufacturing operations required.
  • Strong manufacturing leadership and floor management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of production scheduling and workflow management.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze production metrics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong employee development and coaching abilities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in printing, packaging, converting, labels, graphics, or related manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Flexographic Printing and/or Digital Printing technologies preferred.
  • Experience with Flexographic and Digital printing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety-first culture throughout all print operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Drive employee engagement in safety programs, observations, and risk reduction activities.
  • Lead daily production activities across Flexographic and Digital Printing departments.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed to meet customer demand, delivery commitments, and productivity targets.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators including: Safety, Quality, Schedule attainment, Waste and scrap reduction, Equipment uptime, Labor efficiency, On-time delivery.
  • Coordinate resources to balance production requirements across multiple printing technologies.
  • Identify and remove operational constraints impacting throughput and service.
  • Partner with Quality and Customer Service teams to meet customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with approved print standards, artwork controls, color management requirements, and quality systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer complaints and internal quality issues.
  • Drive a right-first-time manufacturing culture.
  • Provide leadership and operational support for: Flexographic Roll Label Printing Presses, Flexographic Sheet Label Printing Presses, Digital Roll Label Printing Presses, Digital Cap Printing Equipment, Flexo/Digital Hybrid Printing Press, Three Digital Slitter Machines.
  • Ensure equipment performance, reliability, capacity utilization, and operator effectiveness meet business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and production employees.
  • Build team capability through training, cross-training, coaching, and performance development.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Participate in succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing excess stock.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including productivity, quality, and safety metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities and other operational data.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize data and metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead projects focused on productivity gains, waste reduction, quality improvements, and cost savings.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Scheduling, and Quality teams to improve operational performance.
  • Manage labor, material usage, and operational expenses.
  • Support annual budgeting and capital planning activities.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining service and quality standards.
