Principle Site Reliability Engineer

Altana is seeking experienced Software Engineers to join their SRE team and contribute to their mission of building a dynamic, intelligent map of the global supply chain. The role involves working closely with Data Scientists to analyze world-scale datasets, develop scalable code, and build infrastructure and applications to deliver the product vision. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in building developer tools or infrastructure automation, possess excellent communication skills, and prioritize engineering excellence, security, clean code, and collaboration. • Use IAC tooling to build and operate multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc)
• Write code designed to deliver and observe our product vision
• Ensure all deliverables meet or raise security standards, role-based access controls, and compliance environmental requirements
• Write and manage helm charts and ArgoCD manifests for complicated Kubernetes deployments
• Enable monitoring and observability tooling across the team's entire stack
• Increase automation and testing coverage for your streams
• Collaborate with fellow engineers and data scientists across the organization

• 8+ years of real-world experience building developer tools or infrastructure automation
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience
• Track record of ownership and delivery of projects with major organizational impact
• Care deeply about engineering excellence, security, clean code, and collaboration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience at a startup (nice to have, but not required)
• Experience with Python Machine Learning toolsets (Scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas, etc) (nice to have, but not required)
• Experience with API development (nice to have, but not required)
• Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or other CI/CD tooling (nice to have, but not required)
