Principle Musician/Cantor - Part Time
About The Position
Directs, coordinates and/or performs music which is liturgically appropriate for parish liturgies and other designated celebrations. This role includes responsibilities of an Organist, Choir Director, and Cantor. The individual is responsible for leading and/or accompanying the assembly for the musical component of weekend liturgies and other services such as weddings and funerals. Duties may involve selection of music, teaching music to the assembly, supervision of volunteer musicians/cantors, and participation with committees to implement the parish’s vision of worship. This is a part-time position with the possibility of weekend-only hours.
Requirements
- Instrumental and/or vocal skills.
- Knowledge of Roman Catholic Liturgy.
- Consent to a background check.
- Commitment to our Code of Conduct policy.
- Completion of online and in-person trainings prior to hire.
