About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer to join their team in San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX. This role involves leading a team, growing expertise in water/wastewater conveyance design and construction support services, executing and managing projects, and engaging in client development to secure new projects in the Texas market. The engineer will manage a diverse project portfolio, coordinate multi-disciplined teams, and provide technical leadership throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

12 or more years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
PE License in Texas (or ability to obtain TX PE within 6 months).

Master’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Strong technical engineering background.
Demonstrated experience successfully delivering water and wastewater conveyance design projects.
Proven track record in client development, including pursuing proposals and participating in interviews to secure new projects.
Skilled in delivering technical presentations and contributing effectively during project pursuit interviews.
Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
Flexible and able to collaborate with various project teams both locally and across remote offices, consistently delivering high-quality work products to clients.
Experience in negotiating, managing, and successfully delivering projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee project budgets and delivery schedules, leading project teams to ensure all deliverables are met.
Provide technical leadership throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of water and wastewater, distribution and collection systems, lift stations and pumping stations.
Prepare construction documents, developing specifications, and managing construction oversight and administration.
Engage in client development activities, supporting positioning and capture strategies, and contributing to proposal and presentation efforts for Water/Wastewater Conveyance Design projects.
Collaborate with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders to define project scopes and fee estimates, manage risks, identify project staff, and ensure projects are set up for successful and profitable delivery.
Coordinate with Arcadis’ industry-leading technical advisors in water and wastewater hydraulic modeling and facility design, and contribute to strategic planning with clients for water/wastewater treatment plants, stormwater systems, distribution and collection systems, and pump/lift stations.
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, support the work of others, and ensure compliance with all Arcadis practices, quality, and safety standards.
