About The Position

Charlie Health is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to join the Office of the CTO and help drive the next phase of our technology organization. This person will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, design, data, security, and operations, partnering directly with the CTO to turn complex, ambiguous company priorities into clear plans, operating rhythms, and shipped systems. You’ll help orchestrate some of Charlie Health’s most important technical initiatives: rebuilding core platforms, scaling AI-native workflows, improving clinical and operational systems, and ensuring our technology can support life-saving behavioral healthcare at national scale. This is a high-leverage role for someone who can zoom from executive strategy to implementation details; who understands how modern software systems get built; and who can bring structure, urgency, and clarity to complex, regulated environments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, product operations, engineering operations, chief of staff, strategy & operations, product management, or a similar highly cross-functional role.
  • Experience working directly with senior technical executives, ideally a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Product, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to orchestrate complex system builds involving multiple engineering teams, product stakeholders, data dependencies, operational workflows, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong technical fluency across modern software architecture, data systems, APIs, workflow automation, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML systems, and/or internal platform development.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as healthcare, fintech, insurance, education, government, or another environment with meaningful privacy, security, compliance, or operational risk.
  • Strong understanding of how AI-native teams work, including practical experience with LLMs, AI-enabled product development, automation, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted engineering/productivity tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize technical complexity into crisp narratives, decisions, and executive updates.
  • Highly organized and systems-oriented, with a track record of creating clarity in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong analytical orientation; comfortable using data to inspect progress, identify bottlenecks, and drive better decisions.
  • Low-ego, high-ownership operator who can influence without authority and build trust across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the CTO to define, operationalize, and track the highest-priority initiatives across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, Security, and IT.
  • Drive execution of complex system builds from strategy through delivery, including platform rebuilds, workflow orchestration, internal tooling, AI-native products, data systems, and cross-functional infrastructure initiatives.
  • Create and manage operating cadences across the technology organization, including planning cycles, roadmap reviews, program reviews, dependency tracking, executive updates, and decision forums.
  • Translate ambiguous business and clinical needs into clear technical workstreams, owners, milestones, risks, and tradeoffs.
  • Serve as a connective layer between technology and business teams, ensuring Engineering, Product, Clinical, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Go-to-Market teams are aligned on priorities and sequencing.
  • Identify and resolve cross-team blockers, especially where technical dependencies, operational process, compliance requirements, or change management could slow execution.
  • Support AI-native transformation across the organization, helping teams adopt AI tools, agentic workflows, automation, and new product development patterns responsibly and effectively.
  • Build lightweight but durable systems for visibility and accountability, including dashboards, planning artifacts, technical program documentation, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Help mature the technology organization’s planning, communication, and decision-making practices as Charlie Health continues to scale.
  • Operate with urgency, judgment, and care in a mission-critical healthcare environment where system quality, reliability, privacy, and clinical impact matter.
