About The Position

Motorola Solutions’ Access Control Division is developing an industry-leading platform that makes physical environments smarter, safer, and more seamless through access control and automation technology. The Principal Systems Integration Engineer will help define and validate electrical and firmware architectures that support cloud and mobile features, spanning hardware-adjacent software, security, and high-availability cloud services. The role combines electrical engineering and firmware expertise, translating product needs into hardware and firmware constraints. It includes rapid prototyping, early board bring-up, hardware/software interface validation, and system-level debugging. The engineer will work with teams in Culver City and coordinate with mechanical, industrial design, cloud, and mobile teams, as well as manufacturing and JDM partners in Asia. • At least 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Professional background spanning Electrical Engineering and Firmware, including the ability to read schematics and write C code.
  • Experience writing functional proof-of-concept code in C to test hardware features and communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and BLE.
  • Ability to translate high-level product requirements into specific hardware and firmware constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain hardware constraints to software developers and vice versa.
  • Willingness to travel to Asia 1–2 times per year and occasionally join evening syncs with overseas partners.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
