About The Position

Raytheon’s Surface Radars and Sensors (SR&S) Center in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join the System Design and Requirements (SDR) Capability team within the System Engineering & Integration Team (SE&IT). In the Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) role, the engineer will lead cross-functional systems engineering teams in developing system-level technical solutions for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The role guides development of system architecture, requirements, and interfaces to influence incremental capability, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to assess architectural impacts through functional behavior analysis for defeating conventional and advanced threats across MDA mission areas. The RSE will collaborate in an MBSE environment to develop system-of-systems requirements through system and component trade studies and analysis. The role leads development of Change Notices (CNs) to MDA system specifications, including functional, interface, and performance requirements, architectural models, and interface definitions, and supports trace verification from system to element-level requirements. The engineer develops and delivers technical products, including briefings and CNs, for internal and MDA stakeholder reviews. This is an onsite, U.S.-based role in Huntsville, Alabama, with approximately 10–15% domestic/local travel expected. An active, transferable Secret security clearance is required before starting and must be active on day one; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility. Relocation assistance is available.
