About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS and GhostEye Radars. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment. This role is based ~100% onsite at a customer facility in Cambridge, MA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems requirements, systems software, and systems hardware.
  • Experience with DOORs, MBSE, and Cameo / MagicDraw.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with systems integration and/or systems test.
  • Experience in software, hardware, electrical and/or mechanical design.
  • Experience in requirements development, design, verification, and validation.
  • Experience syncing and tracing requirements between DOORs and SysML modeling tools such as Cameo / MagicDraw.
  • Experience managing trade studies and design decisions.
  • Experience effectively presenting ideas to senior level stakeholders.
  • Experience in all phases of development: concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test.
  • Experience supporting design reviews during all phases of development.
  • 10 or more years of experience on DoD and/or space programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or support core systems engineering activities: Develop requirements and algorithms, concepts of operations, system trades, and system interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain detailed SysML descriptive system models, linking and synchronization of requirements, and generate design documentation / views using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Interface with cross functional teams, such as Electrical and Software engineering, to help guide subsystem development and ensure compliance with requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Frequent interface with Customer and other program stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Conduct and/or support technical peer reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Document and provide technical guidance to other members of the design team.
  • Communicate technical topics and issues in a clear and concise manner to both technical peers and non-technical team members.
