About The Position

The Joint Precision Approach and Landing Systems (JPALS) group is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to join the team within Precision Navigation. With the full array of Precision Landing- enabling functionalities, the team is responsible for architecting, designing, and developing systems and producing products that serve the Land, Sea and Airborne domains. Some of the sub-products that make up the product line are the following: Datalinks, Airborne computing, data processing and GPS Sensor Systems.

Requirements

Experience using Simulink including in the Polyspace toolset
Experience integrating autogenerated code
Experience with DO-178 DAL processes and working in a certification environment
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Prior experience in Position, Navigation, and Timing development
Project Engineering experience
Knowledge of lab integration
Ability to perform on multiple threads in parallel

Responsibilities

Assist in performing analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Help design advanced functionality in real-time embedded software products
Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for lab integration of JPALS hardware and software with a focus on automation and the integration of Simulink autocode
Work on multiple programs simultaneously
Assist with managing configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Support verification and traceability of the system requirements to include: Assist with decomposing customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system requirements
Generate verification criteria and plans for the requirements
Conduct automated verification of requirements
Support peer reviews on development artifacts across domains
Own the development of your design approach through collaboration with subject matter experts
Help drive resolution for technical issues through problem-solving and coordination across impacted teams
Coordinate with cross-functional team members to complete assignments & projects as defined and on schedule
