Principal Systems Engineer - Processing, Guidance, & Controls Engineers

RTX•Tucson, AZ
•$118,300 - $224,900•Onsite

About The Position

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities Centers in Tucson support aerospace and defense systems across a range of domains and product lines. The Processing, Guidance, & Controls (PG&C) Center provides capabilities in guidance, sensing, and product understanding through its Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Signal Processing; and Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis teams. Principal Systems Engineers will support current and upcoming product lines. The role develops, simulates, and evaluates control and navigation algorithms for complex autonomous systems; builds and uses dynamic system models and simulations to evaluate system behavior and inform design trades; analyzes test data to assess performance and drive improvements; and works across engineering disciplines to integrate and validate systems. The position is 100% onsite at the Tucson, Arizona campus, with the possibility of occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
  • At least 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Engineering experience in at least one of the following: guidance, navigation, and control systems; navigation sensors, state estimation, or perception systems; guidance and control algorithms; system modeling and simulation; parameter tuning and validation; test data or data logging analysis and system performance; root-cause analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance analysis; real-time guidance, navigation, and control software; integrated guidance and control system development; or mission performance involving accuracy, range, lethality, or reliability.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and/or object-oriented design.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government security clearance prior to the start date and obtain special program access after starting.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
