Advanced Common Products (ACP), a sub strategic business unit within Naval Power, is seeking a Production Maturation Lead for the Ultra Program. This role is responsible for maturing current engineering processes and deploying those processes for production, including the transition of many engineering activities to Operations. The Production Maturation Lead partners with cross‑functional teams to reduce cycle time, improve throughput, and increase yields. Test equipment and factory optimization are critical in achieving the needed capacity; this role works closely with the Program Production Director, Program Operations Manager, Office of the Chief Engineer, and factory teams to ensure objectives are met. This position reports to the Production Director.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Prior transition‑to‑production and/or production program experience coordinating engineering, operations, test, and supply‑chain disciplines.
  • Experience leading CCA hardware troubleshooting, technical dispositions, and/or sell‑off readiness.
  • Experience implementing RCCA / FMMEA / FRACAS and/or improving test methods / processes for first‑pass yield and cycle‑time improvement.
  • Experience optimizing SATE architectures, test methodologies, and/or data automation.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Program/Project Management Level 6 or equivalent (or ability to obtain within one year).
  • Proven experience solving RF / mixed‑signal technical problems in production and driving compliant dispositions.
  • Experience defining and implementing common test‑equipment architecture changes.
  • Experience establishing non‑destructive x‑ray inspection, solder‑rework processes, and TDP compliance documentation with suppliers / factories.
  • Data analytics and automation skills (MATLAB, Excel Power Query/Power Pivot, VBA, SCPI).
  • Strategic road‑mapping and execution supporting mid‑ to long‑term production/capacity objectives.
  • Mentorship and knowledge transfer experience across large teams.
  • Familiarity identifying and integrating AI / automation opportunities in production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage production data and metrics to develop plans of action that optimize cycle time, throughput, and yields.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Test Engineering, and Systems Engineering to drive impactful changes that improve program performance.
  • Develop and execute program strategies to accelerate transition‑to‑production and capacity improvements for Ultra RF CCAs and stacks.
  • Train REAs on best practices in troubleshooting Ultra CCAs and stacks to support cycle‑time and throughput improvements.
  • Lead failure investigation and RF / environmental compliance closure, driving RCCA / FMMEA / FRACAS discipline and measurable yield improvement.
  • Stand up and optimize SATE/ATE methods and common test‑equipment architectures to reduce false failures and improve first‑pass yields.
  • Implement qualified solder inspection and non‑destructive x‑ray capability; ensure TDP compliance and supplier/factory enablement.
  • Drive knowledge transfer and disciplined RF cable/connector handling practices across teams to reduce recurring damage drivers and test escapes.
  • Ensure personnel actions and implemented systems produce actionable, high‑quality data that can be used for forecasting and decision‑making.
