About The Position

ECS is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer III (Network) to work in its Pocatello, Idaho office. The role is responsible for the design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, and interoperability of data center network features, components, and application dependencies, including switches, firewalls, load balancers, software-defined networking, and private cloud requirements. The engineer designs, implements, and supports networking infrastructure within and between data centers, and serves as the subject-matter expert for data center network environments. The position includes provisioning and configuring networking for servers and applications; maintaining network security, availability, backup, and redundancy; monitoring performance and resolving issues; and creating alerts, dashboards, recovery processes, and proactive solutions. The engineer also maintains system-management tools, develops custom scripts to improve efficiency and automate tasks, provides fourth-level support, and works with vendors and IT personnel to resolve problems. The role requires maintaining current technical documentation and resource inventories, providing performance and resource-utilization reporting, and transferring knowledge to Government staff through training and assistance. A current Top Secret clearance and the capability to obtain SCI/CI-Poly are required. Candidates must have at least six years of experience and a CCNA, DevNet Associate, or equivalent network-vendor associate-level certification.
