We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer – Control Account Manager to support a cross-disciplined Integrated Product Team (IPT) of engineers for a large-scale software development effort of a satellite command and control system. The CAM is responsible for managing cost, schedule, and performance for assigned control accounts, serving as a key liaison between program management, finance, engineering, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 8+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in program management, project control, or CAM-related roles
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and related tools, such as Planning/Scheduling, IMP/IMS, Risk Management, and Financial Forecasts or EAC
  • Experience with metrics and forecasting tools to monitor performance and support decision-making
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid program execution models
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile leadership role
  • Experience with Agile software development using the Atlassian tool suite (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience supporting complex satellite ground systems, with emphasis on command-and-control functionality
  • Systems, Test, and/or Software Engineering experience on large-scale government software development contracts

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the cost, schedule, and technical performance owner for assigned control accounts within the program
  • Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and execution, including cost and schedule variance analysis, Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates, and baseline change control
  • Collaborate with program management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in program performance, and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Use data-driven insights, performance metrics, and forecasts to support informed decision-making and course correction strategies
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and program success
  • Work closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads and cross-functional stakeholders to provide a holistic view of program execution
  • Prepare and present financial and performance data to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with internal policies and government regulations
  • Contribute to development of all EVM-related deliverables and associated program performance metrics, including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and Government Surveillance Reviews, and work toward Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification
