About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on-site in Melbourne, Florida. The candidate will help maintain the engineering model, developing structure and behavior diagrams that describe the system architecture and design. They collaborate with other IPTs to obtain the information and data needed in the model. The candidate should have experience in developing Cameo models and utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools. We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision. The candidate must have a firm understanding of traditional systems engineering concepts and methodologies and must be able to apply and adjust these concepts and methodologies to an accelerated process in the early stages of the engineering design. The candidate must be familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), be able to work within an agile environment, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering
  • Experience modeling software systems and software system of systems
  • Experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework
  • Able to obtain and maintain DoD Top-Secret clearance (Interim required to start)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RNP and RNAV navigation specifications
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation
  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred
  • Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
  • Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
  • Experience with Cameo Magic Draw or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect
  • Experienced developing various DODAF view artifacts, especially Operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like CAMEO

Responsibilities

  • Work with the cross-functional teams to create conceptual data models and data flows
  • Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility
  • Implement data strategies and developing physical data models
  • Coach team members on developing the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the model
  • Perform Systems Requirements analysis
  • Management of requirements, include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
