About The Position

The Platform Operations team builds native platform solutions that enable seamless and highly secure platform administration, management, and monitoring. This technical leadership role in the Database Platforms (DP) department will contribute to InterSystems’ next generation cloud-native database platform product as well as the InterSystems IRIS, InterSystems IRIS for Health and InterSystems Health Connect database platforms. The Platform Operations team needs an experienced developer or architect who can drive DevSecOps enhancements and maintenance including configuration, security, monitoring, licensing and upgrading for cloud with Kubernetes and traditional on-prem deployments on a range of supported platforms. This position is in the InterSystems headquarters in Boston, MA.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience hardening applications and backend systems
  • Demonstrated skill at driving results in a timely fashion
  • Able to balance competing pressures and priorities
  • Thrives in a self-driven environment with a small team
  • 7+ years of experience with python, GoLang, Java or a similar programming language
  • College degree in engineering or computer science

Nice To Haves

  • Mastery of cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Helm and AWS
  • Mastery of network security concepts, protocols and tools
  • Familiarity with available AI tooling to optimize development tasks
  • Professional experience with deploying and managing large-scale distributed systems
  • Professional experience with system control theory
  • Professional experience with OTel and/or observability platforms
  • Professional experience with OAuth 2.0/OIDC
  • Professional experience with ObjectScript and C/C++
  • Professional experience with bash or similar shell
  • Graduate degree with 10+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Design technical solutions in collaboration with a small team of developers according to product requirements defined by a product manager.
  • Implement product changes and automated tests when appropriate.
  • Follow the team’s development workflow including use of source control, code reviews and clear documentation.
  • Be responsible for the quality of their code.
  • Occasionally respond to technical questions about expected product behavior and recommended best practices from support specialists and sales engineers.
  • Collaborate with several other teams including the DP Cloud Core and Kernel development teams, the DP Security Architecture Engineering team, the Managed Services team, and the HealthShare Operations scrum team.
