This role involves overseeing the delivery of software applications and services, encompassing design, development, testing, deployment, production support, troubleshooting, and maintenance with a strong emphasis on automation. The Principal System Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, create design specifications, and assess hardware/software interactions. They will utilize various programming languages and development methodologies, create and execute automated test plans, and validate test results. The position also includes supporting applications, resolving configuration and environment issues, supporting software deployment, and reviewing deliverables from cross-vendor teams. A key aspect of this role is developing, implementing, and managing QA processes to ensure Salesforce products meet quality, function, and reliability standards. This includes defining and communicating quality standards, working closely with product owners and developers throughout the Salesforce development lifecycle, and optimizing QA processes for the Salesforce platform. The role requires managing Salesforce testing, including functional, integration, end-to-end testing, and UAT support. Enabling production support and automating testable features using tools like Selenium and Postman is also crucial. The Principal System Engineer will govern testing best practices, develop and design testing program strategies for Salesforce systems, and monitor test execution. They will also manage external vendor relationships and provide training on the Salesforce product, aiming to improve the production process and assist with resource allocation and test estimations. The role acts as a key point of contact for the Salesforce QA team in stakeholder meetings, leads defect triage meetings, and maintains JIRA for defect management.
