About The Position

Raytheon is hiring a Principal System Administrator to provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment supporting SIPR and other information systems. The role works as part of a team in a fast-paced technology environment, troubleshooting technical issues of basic to moderate scope and complexity, including hardware and operating-system integration. The administrator manages virtualized environments and supports Windows Server services and internals, hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, server management tools, and backup and restore processes. The role also installs and configures software applications requested by end users and works with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements. The position is full-time and 100% onsite in Tucson, Arizona. The systems operate 24x7, and work beyond standard hours may occasionally be required. Domestic travel may be required as business needs dictate, up to 10% per year. An active, transferable U.S. government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required before the start date. The employee must obtain a DoDD 8140/8570 certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent, within six months of starting.

Requirements

Typically, a university degree or equivalent experience and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance before the start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
Experience with Windows and/or Linux.
Experience in at least one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, or networking administration.
Ability to work full time, 100% onsite.
Ability to occasionally work beyond standard hours because systems operate 24x7.
Ability to travel to other U.S. domestic locations as business needs dictate, up to 10% per year.

Nice To Haves

Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance.
Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher.
Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
DoDD 8140/8570 certifications, including CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent and an operating system certification.
Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
Experience using VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.

Responsibilities
