About The Position

The Marlin Alliance is seeking a Principal Subject Matter Expert in High Frequency Communications to support a DoD customer's standards development and interoperability mission. This part-time, senior advisory role is designed for an authority with extensive experience shaping U.S. and Allied military communications standards. Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a primary author, editor, or chair for U.S. (MIL-STD) and NATO (STANAG) communications standards.
  • Extensive experience in HF radio communications with demonstrated publications.
  • Proven ability to advise senior-level government, military, and industry stakeholders on complex technical and strategic matters.
  • Up to 25% travel required for working groups and consultations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching relevant engineering disciplines, including HF and other waveforms.
  • Direct leadership experience within NATO working groups or capability teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a principal author and editor for U.S. Military Standards (MIL-STD) and NATO Standards (STANAGs) related to high-frequency radio, data modems, and automated radio control.
  • Provide expert advisory and consulting services to U.S. Government, NATO, and allied governments on wireless networks, cryptographic systems, and communications interoperability.
  • Direct the design, analysis, and standardization of adaptive techniques for automated and secure communications systems.
  • Develop and deliver high-level courses and training on advanced communications technologies and standards to senior technical audiences within the defense community.
  • Review and contribute to technical literature and research efforts to maintain strategic advantage in communications technology.
