About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Principal or Sr Principal Cloud Engineer to augment its team. The position can be based in Aurora, Colorado; Morrisville, North Carolina; or Sacramento, California. Relocation assistance may be available. The role plans and evolves processes and infrastructure for programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment, and works within an Agile development team to automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management. Applicants must hold an active, current, in-scope U.S. Government Top Secret clearance and CI Polygraph, and be able to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access. U.S. citizenship is required.

The position may be staffed at the Principal or Sr Principal level according to the applicable education and experience qualifications. The advertised primary-level salary range is $114,000–$163,200, and the secondary-level salary range is $135,800–$203,600. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
• Active U.S. Government CI Polygraph at the time of application, current and within scope.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Principal: Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience; alternatively, 3 years with a master’s degree, 0 years with a Ph.D., or 9 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Sr Principal: Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience; alternatively, 6 years with a master’s degree, 4 years with a Ph.D., or 12 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Current Security+ certification.
• Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems.
• Experience in an Agile software development framework.
• Experience with at least three preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure for programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment.
• Integrate development pipelines using automation, test-driven development tools, and continuous integration/test frameworks.
• Define and implement program standards for build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring.
• Ensure implementation of Software Configuration Management, code quality, and code coverage with automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.
• Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver end-to-end automation for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Build and configure delivery environments supporting CI/CD tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
• Create scripts or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
• Work with development teams to create automated continuous integration and continuous delivery systems.
• Work with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve problems.
• Monitor and support installed systems and infrastructure.
• Develop custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce human intervention in tasks.
• Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with developers.
