About The Position

The Principal Solutions Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for defining and executing the organization’s enterprise technology strategy across business applications, automation, data platforms, and AI-driven solutions. This role partners with senior leadership and department heads to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions that drive operational efficiency and digital transformation. The Principal Architect provides technical vision, governance, and oversight across automation platforms, APIs, data ecosystems, and AI agents, ensuring alignment with business goals, security standards, and long-term architecture strategy.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems integration, or enterprise engineering roles.
  • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale solutions across ERP, CRM, and cloud platforms.
  • Deep expertise in API design, authentication (OAuth2), and integration patterns.
  • Strong experience with automation platforms (Power Platform, etc).
  • Experience designing AI-enabled solutions, including Copilots or agent-based systems.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, SQL, and data integration strategies.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Power Platform, Copilot Studio).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar enterprise CRM platforms.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, and infrastructure governance.
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Architect, Power Platform, AI-related certifications).

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap for applications, integrations, automation, and AI.
  • Establish standards, design patterns, and governance for system integrations, data flows, and automation frameworks.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies aligned with business strategy and scalability requirements.
  • Act as the final escalation point and technical authority for complex solution design decisions.
  • Build technical documentation and ensure proper handoff to support teams.
  • Provide end user training on new processes and workflow changes.
  • Advise customers of Lighthill solutions and provide technical guidance when necessary.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions across ERP, CRM, support systems, and data platforms.
  • Lead design of API-first and event-driven architectures (REST, webhooks, messaging).
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise security standards.
  • Oversee integration of systems, data modeling, and AI/Automation transformation strategies across systems.
  • Provide architectural oversight for automation platforms (Power Automate, n8n, Logic Apps).
  • Define reusable frameworks, templates, and governance for enterprise automation.
  • Guide development teams in building robust, maintainable, and version-controlled workflows.
  • Define strategy and architecture for AI agents, Copilots, and automation leveraging enterprise data.
  • Ensure compliance with AI governance policies (approved systems, data protection).
  • Establish performance monitoring, KPIs, and continuous improvement frameworks for AI solutions.
  • Design and oversee implementation of enterprise data strategy including data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and governance across applications and integrations.
  • Uphold Enterprise Data Security and user access rights.
  • Partner with BI and analytics teams to enable scalable reporting and insights.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology strategy and investments.
  • Lead cross-functional discovery sessions and translate business needs into scalable solutions.
  • Influence decision-making across operations, sales, finance, and IT through architectural guidance.
  • Drive adoption, change management, and organizational enablement.
