About The Position

We're hiring a Principal Solution Architect to define and drive the technical strategy for Amazon Shipping's partner ecosystem, enabling seamless integrations with enterprise shipping platforms, system integrators, and ISVs across a global network. You'll architect the future of our API platform, design enterprise-grade integrations for TMS, WMS platforms and shape the strategy for the Amazon Shipping App Center marketplace. You'll provide architectural leadership for large-scale, partner-driven enterprise transformations, working at the intersection of technical excellence, business strategy, and ecosystem growth. This role requires deep technical expertise in API development, integration patterns, and distributed systems, combined with the ability to influence product roadmaps, establish technical governance frameworks, and represent Amazon Shipping in technical forums and industry events. Your solutions will deliver significant, measurable impact on customer business outcomes—driving ROI improvements, revenue growth, and market share expansion through technical excellence and strategic innovation. Working with global system integrators and ISVs, you'll validate complex customer architectures, resolve architectural challenges, and ensure the scalability, security, and performance of partner integrations. You'll drive thought leadership through technical publications, white papers, and collaboration with developer communities, while engineering next-generation integration patterns that set industry standards for shipping technology. You'll collaborate closely with: Global system integrators and ISVs on complex enterprise architectures, Product teams to influence API roadmap and prioritize partner-enabling features, Engineering teams on API platform evolution and technical governance, Commercial and Partnership teams on partner strategy and ecosystem growth, Enterprise customers validating technical solutions and integration approaches, Industry forums, panels, and developer communities as a technical advocate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise-scale, technology-driven solutions in logistics, shipping, or supply chain technology
• Deep technical expertise in API development, REST APIs, cXML, EDI, and integration standards
• Architectural leadership with ability to guide large-scale technical transformations
• Strategic thinker who connects technical decisions to business outcomes and ecosystem growth
• Strong communicator comfortable presenting to executives, IT management, and developers
• Thought leader who drives innovation through publications, white papers, and industry engagement
• Customer-obsessed with focus on partner success and developer experience
• Proven ability to establish and enforce technical governance frameworks
• Experience working with global system integrators on complex enterprise solutions

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for Amazon Shipping's partner ecosystem, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and scalability across a global network
• Shape the strategy for the Amazon Shipping App Center, driving innovation in the marketplace ecosystem and enabling partner-built applications
• Establish and enforce technical governance frameworks to standardize and optimize partner integration solutions
• Represent Amazon Shipping in technical forums, panels, and industry events, advocating for best practices and standards in shipping technology
• Drive thought leadership through technical publications, white papers, and collaboration with developer communities
• Partner with senior product leaders in early formation of new products and services, influencing trade-off decisions and ensuring customer requirements are consistently met throughout development phases
• Design and implement enterprise-grade shipping integrations for platforms such as Manhattan, SAP, Oracle Transporation Management, and others, ensuring technical excellence and reliability
• Provide architectural leadership for large-scale, partner-driven enterprise shipping transformations, guiding design, implementation, and technical governance
• Collaborate with global system integrators and ISVs to validate complex customer architectures and deliver robust technical solutions
• Act as a technical escalation point for resolving architectural challenges, ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of partner integrations
• Engineer next-generation integration patterns, leveraging technologies like REST APIs, MCPs, and EDI to build industry-leading solutions
• Lead the evolution of Amazon Shipping's API platform, defining capabilities that enable advanced partner use cases and improve developer experiences
• Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to influence Amazon Shipping's API roadmap and prioritize features that drive partner success
• Establish technical standards and best practices for API design, security, performance, and scalability
• Create reference architectures, integration patterns, and technical documentation that accelerate partner onboarding
• Drive continuous improvement of developer experience through feedback loops with partners and integrators
• Work closely with product teams to ensure partner requirements are reflected in platform capabilities and roadmap priorities
• Partner with commercial teams on ecosystem strategy, partner selection, and go-to-market approaches
• Collaborate with engineering teams on platform architecture, technical debt reduction, and scalability improvements
• Engage with enterprise customers to understand integration challenges and translate requirements into technical solutions
• Build relationships with key partners and integrators to drive adoption of best practices and technical standards
• Establish technical governance frameworks that ensure consistency, quality, and security across partner integrations
• Define integration certification processes and technical requirements for partner solutions
• Drive adoption of architectural best practices across the partner ecosystem
• Create and maintain technical standards documentation, integration guides, and certification criteria
• Monitor partner integration health and proactively identify opportunities for optimization
