About The Position

Medtronic’s Coronary and Renal Denervation (CRDN) business is looking for a Principal Software Test Engineer to be part of a high-performing team that is revolutionizing the design and development of energy based therapeutic medical devices to treat hypertension. In this role, you will leverage both your technical breadth and business acumen to lead the newly approved therapy medical device software test team and participate in the design and development of next generation medical devices. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in software testing and test automation
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Robot Framework
  • Experience in API testing and validation
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks, tools, and best practices
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and debug issues effectively
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, math or technical discipline and minimum of 7 years of work experience in engineering and/or quality OR advanced degree in engineering, science or technical field with 5 years of work experience in engineering and/or quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Python and Robot Framework
  • Build and execute automation for API, integration, regression, and functional testing
  • Perform validation in Unix/Linux environments and troubleshoot issues using command-line tools and scripting
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to define test strategy and quality standards
  • Analyze requirements, create test plans, and ensure full test coverage across features and releases
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
  • Improve test efficiency by enhancing automation coverage and reducing manual testing effort
  • Review code and test scripts to ensure maintainability, scalability, and best practices
  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines by integrating automated tests
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on test automation and quality engineering practices
