Our team in Tucson, AZ, has an immediate need for an onsite Principal Software Systems Quality Engineer (Quality Assurance/Compliance) to support Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) to support the following key programs: LADS includes Global Patriot, Ghost-Eye / Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense, National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile, Multi-Function Radio Frequency Sensor, Enduring Indirect Fire Protection Capability, Stinger, Next Generation Short-Range Interceptor, TOW, Javelin, Excalibur, and Counter Unmanned Aerial systems. Within Quality & Mission Assurance, the Software Quality Engineering department (SWQE) performs classified activities in secure labs and unclassified activities in dedicated workspaces: SWQE Tasks – Review of Document Deliverables (CDRL), Command Media (Policies), SW Release Packages (Windchill PDM, Azure DevOps), SW Requirements Changes, SW/System Defects, SW Pulls (Code Reviews), Media, and Test Artifacts. Participation in Peer Reviews (SW, SE), Control Boards (CCB, SRB), Tracking Books (Metrics), Test Witnessing (SQT, FQT), and Audits. Software Quality collaborates with Engineering (Software, Systems, Integration/Test, Safety) and other Quality functions (Program Quality Leads, Hardware Quality) at our Tucson, AZ, location among others. (Relocation support available.) What You Will Do (Focus Areas): Compliance – Ensure digital products adhere to contractual requirements. Review and approve inputs/outputs to/from partner organizations. Improvement – Perform independent evaluations and risk assessments across lifecycle. Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions. Products – Ensure integrity of the technical data package. Identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data. Teamwork – Interact with customers, product development, and test personnel. Provide guidance to senior leadership, team members, and group peers. Processes – Leverage modern experiences with software development and quality best practices. Increasingly adopt Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of relevant quality or engineering experience.
  • Relevant experience is 8 years working experience in a Quality or Technical role and applying advanced principles across at least EIGHT of the following.
  • Compliance Evaluation: validation, verification, auditing, action items.
  • Requirements Verification: software/systems specifications, functionality, performance, release plans, statement of work, contracts.
  • Release Management: checklists, labels, versions, licenses, repositories.
  • Test Witnessing: test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test reports, test sites.
  • Software Processes: requirements decomposition, code reviews, functions / features, building / configuration management.
  • Defect Management: dispositioning, prioritization, resolution, implementation.
  • Records Management: software executables, release notes, security bulletins, training manuals, user guides.
  • Integration Knowledge: security, systems, software, hardware, connectivity, tools, equipment.
  • Maintenance Processes: patches, upgrades, installation, backups, recovery, synchronization.
  • Technology Knowledge: applications, servers, virtual machines, networks, storage.
  • Principal role critical: Projects: Proven experience with leading, coordination, planning, prioritization, execution, and escalation.
  • Policies: Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Analysis: Familiarity with identifying Root Cause of process issues and implementing Corrective Actions.
  • Metrics: Familiarity with defining, developing, monitoring, measuring, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Agile: Familiarity with SCRUM teams, sprints / increments, stories / points, backlog / burndown) and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
  • PowerPoint: Ability to create and present Senior Management briefings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security Clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Standards: Familiarity with Quality principles via AS9115, AS9100, ISO9001.
  • Strategy: Experience leading key initiatives with cross-functional teams and collaborating with Business and Technical stakeholders.
  • Development: Familiarity with Integrated Dev. Environment (IDE) applications, modeling, or databases (ClearCase, DOORS, RQM, Cameo, Rhapsody, Oracle, SAP).
  • DevSecOps: Familiarity with Toolchains (Jira, Confluence, ADS, Jenkins, GitHub, Coverity).
  • Certification: Active in Quality, SW or Systems Eng., Agile, Cyber / IA, Proj. Mgmt.
  • Education: Advanced Degree.
