We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Amends, Post transactions team. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Pre purchase and transaction business and product partners, to understand how we can leverage technology to enhance customer engagement, improve associate productivity, or bring in operational efficiencies. Requirements

  • Deep knowledge and experience in building complex, large-scale, mission-critical applications with microservice architecture in Kubernetes.
  • Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design and ability to translate product requirement into engineering blueprint.
  • Experience developing and maintaining SDLC processes and best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, and model monitoring.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize requirements across multiple domains and influence stakeholders/peer teams for strategic alignment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to approach problems in a logical and systematic manner.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystem a plus.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex solutions that drive business results.
  • Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and support to achieve their full potential and improve team efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain SDLC processes and best practices- setting and enforcing high standards for quality, reliability, and security in deployed solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with business, product, data science, front-end engineering, Java Backend engineering and data engineering teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
  • Effectively communicate technical work to senior/executive leaders in both technical and non-technical settings.
  • Stay up to date with the latest AI technologies and trends, serving as a thought leader who inspires and guides teams to harness AI for improving productivity.
