About The Position

Blue Yonder is a leading AI-driven global supply chain solutions software product company. This role is for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead a team of product engineers in designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven solutions and provide strategic technical leadership for Generative AI initiatives. The engineer will shape the architectural direction of AI systems, lead complex engineering challenges, and drive innovation across the technology stack. The company's 2025 focus includes enhancing AI and ML architecture, integrating AI for resilient supply chains and sustainability, and revolutionizing the retail industry through AI-powered planning and operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in Software development with min of 3 years as Architect
Strong programming experience and background in Enterprise Python (preferred) or Java, spring boot, microservices based architecture
Demonstrable experience designing, building deploying and maintenance of enterprise cloud solutions (we use Azure) in AWS, Azure and or GCP
Demonstrable experience with microservices based architecture on Cloud at scale
Experience with implementation of Event driven architecture using Kafka, Spark or similar technologies
Hands-on development skills along with architecture/design experience; should not have moved away from software development
Demonstrable experience, thorough knowledge and interests in Cloud native architecture, Distributed micro-services, Multi-tenant SaaS solution and Cloud Scalability, performance and High availability
Experience with API management platforms & providing / consuming RESTful APIs
Experience with varied tools such as Spring Boot, OAuth, REST, GraphQL, Hibernate, NoSQL, RDBMS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, React
Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation
Good Understanding of secure architectures, secure configuration, identity management, role-based access control, authentication & authorization, and data encryption
Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities

Responsibilities

Establish the technical vision and architectural foundations for our generative AI platforms and products
Lead the design and implementation of complex, large-scale AI systems that push technical boundaries
Design and build scalable, high-performance solutions
Optimize inference pipelines to reduce latency and improve efficiency
Build distributed AI systems that handle high-throughput workloads
Mentor engineering leaders and senior engineers, elevating the technical capabilities of the organization
Identify and solve systemic engineering challenges across model training, deployment, and monitoring
Establish technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for AI engineering
Drive technical alignment with product management & UX on roadmap and deliverables
