Principal Software Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Engineer/Scientist to provide advanced technical leadership and research support on complex programs and initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-level technical solutions, often involving cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary problem solving. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to guide technical teams and deliver impactful results. Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance is required for this position. Candidates may start with an active Public Trust clearance or higher, provided they are eligible to obtain a TS/SCI.
- PhD in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics, and 7 years of relevant experience; OR Master's with 4 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Associate's with 12 years of relevant experience; OR 16 years relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading technical teams and projects
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Designing, developing, and deploying Cloud-native applications
- Implementing and managing Event-driven architectures
- Building secure software solutions with a focus on security best practices
- Practical experience and proficiency in software development using the Scrum framework
- Design and implementation of User Interfaces
- Advanced Certified ScrumMaster
- Developers with relevant Scrum certification, skills, and experience
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD), Developers as appropriate
- Research and development experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technical and theoretical consulting efforts across programs and projects
- Design, develop, execute, and implement advanced engineering and scientific initiative
- Conduct research and develop innovative solutions to solve challenging technical problems
- Integrate advanced concepts, data, and information from multiple disciplines to develop effective approaches and methodologies
- Prepare and present technical reports, papers, proposals, briefings, and related documentation
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff members and project teams
- Support organizational growth by advancing technical expertise and capabilities
