Principal Software Engineer (Partial Telework)
About The Position
GliaCell is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support a U.S. Government customer on one of their subcontracts. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract. This team designs, develops, and maintains a suite of web-based analysis tools. The team builds and deploys multiple applications across diverse tech stacks, including containerized React UIs, Java and Go microservices, custom REST security services, and data stores such as MongoDB and an OpenSearch cluster. The program provides users with real-time alerting, historical querying with smart query builders, and document storage and retrieval.
Requirements
- Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- 20+ years Software Engineering experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Works well independently as well as on a team.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using Java, JavaScript, Swagger, Maven, Git, and Nexus
- Experience with Linux
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Work with UI developers to determine necessary data to be displayed
