Principal Software Engineer

Conga•Houston, MA
•Hybrid

About The Position

As a Principal Software Engineer on Conga’s B2B Platform Engineering, Core Services team, you will own the security, identity, and access-management capabilities that underpin Conga’s B2B products. You will lead a team of 5 to 8 engineers, set technical direction for platform authentication and authorization, and partner with the Advantage Platform organization to establish secure, reusable integration patterns between the platforms. This is a senior, hands-on role with influence across product teams and Conga’s platform ecosystem. You will lead the design and development of mission-critical services for cross-product identity, access control, tenant context, and security standards. You will define API contracts, authentication flows, authorization models, and tenant-context propagation across distributed systems, while ensuring services meet security, availability, performance, and reliability requirements. You will also coordinate cross-platform delivery and operational support, mentor engineers, and promote secure coding and strong platform engineering practices. The role involves close collaboration with Architecture, Product Security, B2B Platform, Advantage Platform, Product Engineering, AI, and customers. You will help translate strategic product and AI objectives into secure, scalable, reusable platform capabilities; lead incident investigation and remediation; and engage directly with customers on support issues and escalations. The role is based in Houston, TX or Boston, MA, with a hybrid work arrangement.
