About The Position

The Principal Software Engineer supports QVC, and drives enterprise automation, AI-enabled engineering, and architecture decisions across our technology landscape. You’ll help shape how QVC designs and delivers scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions. You’ll lead complex automation and modernization efforts, define technical standards, and guide engineering teams through architecture decisions that improve speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, enterprise architecture, or a related technical field
  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale enterprise technology solutions
  • Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, system integration, distributed systems, and scalable solution design
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and drive adoption across teams without direct managerial authority
  • Experience leading complex modernization or transformation initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale automation and AI solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, security, and reliability
  • Define and maintain architecture standards, engineering best practices, and governance processes for automation and platform solutions
  • Partner with business leaders, architects, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business priorities and modernization goals
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical approaches that improve engineering delivery, system resiliency, and operational performance
  • Guide software engineering excellence through architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical assessments across multiple teams
  • Mentor engineers and technical leads by sharing expertise, improving technical decision-making, and raising engineering standards
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, support resilient system design, and lead complex troubleshooting for critical production issues
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and supportable
  • Leverage AI tools and models to accelerate solution design, automation development, and delivery practices
