About The Position

The Principal Software Engineer in Information Security will lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives. This role requires expertise in stakeholder management, security technologies, and infrastructure security to influence technical outcomes and drive innovation. The position involves overseeing coding standards, guiding teams on best practices, and ensuring compliance with quality and security requirements. The engineer will collaborate across functions to address complex challenges, enhance system operability, and support continuous improvement in software development and security operations within a dynamic environment. The team leads the design and implementation of advanced global network segmentation strategies focused on regulatory compliance and enterprise security. It drives innovation by researching emerging technologies and delivering automated infrastructure as code solutions to meet evolving business needs. Members provide technical guidance and mentorship within a global security engineering environment. The team emphasizes strategic architecture development for complex, high-scale security programs and maintains audit compliance initiatives. Collaboration and expertise in cloud automation, network protocols, and continuous integration pipelines ensure robust, scalable security solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management, including identification, engagement, and communication to align technical and business objectives.
  • Proven expertise in designing scalable, secure software solutions with strong knowledge of security technologies and infrastructure security.
  • Proficiency in coding standards, frameworks, and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, with ability to guide teams on best practices.
  • Strong background in test strategy development, defect management, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical designs and solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering teams to achieve high performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC
  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area
  • 3 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
