About The Position

This role defines test strategy and applies test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve the active trader desktop experience across both Mac and Windows. The engineer will build, debug, test, and support Dotnet based desktop applications, maintain the product test repository, and manage regression test planning using tools like X-Ray (Jira). They will conduct desktop test automation using Python automation frameworks and support the team in designing reliable, accurate tests, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. The position involves using business knowledge to translate divisional initiative visions into business solutions by developing complex software applications and conducting studies of alternatives, as well as recommending changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and testing high transaction, low error tolerance web applications using Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, and Node in a financial services environment.
OR Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and testing high transaction, low error tolerance web applications using Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, and Node in a financial services environment.
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and implementing responsive front-end applications to enhance user experience using Node.js, React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
DE developing microservices using Java, REST, Python and Spring Boot.
DE modernizing and validating legacy financial mainframe platforms using Selenium, Cypress, or Unified Functional Testing (UFT).
DE developing and validating Microservices and Serverless technologies for trade processing using Postman, SOAP UI, and Rest Assured to improve system performance and trade processing times.
DE designing quality assurance and testing strategy (with manual testing and automation for Investment Banking applications) to be used for order, asset, and wealth management using Selenium, Cypress, Automation Anywhere, or UFT.
DE coordinating with stakeholders to design and monitor quality assurance metrics using tools Asset and Liability Management (ALM), QC, Jira, CCS, Version One, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).
DE performing automation framework development and enhancement using Selenium, Cypress, Visual Studio TFS, IDE tools (IntelliJ or Eclipse), and frameworks (TestNG, Cucumber, and NUnit) to validate high transaction, low error tolerance financial applications including, order management, account creation, and asset management.
DE designing and executing Automation Test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, and Junit.
DE automating test cases using Jasmine and Karma testing frameworks.
DE building and maintaining testing processes (integration, system, regression, smoke, acceptance, end to end, database, API, ETL, load, and browser compatibility testing) to ensure application quality.
DE performing Cross-Team Collaboration and DevOps Integration to implement CI/CD pipeline and maintain DevOps processes using Jenkins CI pipelines, UDeploy, Docker, Kubernetes, Github, and Gitlab.
DE building automated testing suites (including unit, integration, and end-to-end) to test and enable use of testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies using Cypress, Selenium, QTP/UFT, SOAP UI, Postman, or Automation Anywhere.
DE coordinating microservices architecture implementation by establishing standardized API documentation and communication protocols using Confluence, SharePoint, and KB articles.
DE architecting a scalable microservices ecosystem using Spring Cloud, Datadog, Splunk, and Jira.

Responsibilities

Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives.
Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on time and on budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
