About The Position

This role involves participating in testing and automation activities using various tools like Jira, X-ray, Cucumber, and Selenium. The engineer will facilitate alignment with automation standards, support DevOps integration, and perform Continuous Integration (CI) testing. They will design and develop Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and applications on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle, and Snowflake. The position requires using business knowledge to translate divisional initiative visions into business solutions by developing complex software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. The engineer will also analyze and recommend changes to project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies. Key responsibilities include participating in architecture design teams, defining and implementing application-level architecture, developing applications on complex projects, and recommending development testing tools and methodologies. The role is responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables, developing comprehensive documentation, establishing full project life cycle plans, and ensuring projects meet goals on-time and on-budget. Additionally, the engineer will advise on risk assessment and management, plan and coordinate project schedules, act as a liaison for business units, provide technology solutions, advise senior management on technical strategy, and mentor junior team members. The position requires performing independent and complex technical and functional analysis and developing original technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation using Java programming languages and version control systems in non-Production, Production, and financial services environments.
  • Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation using Java programming languages and version control systems in non-Production, Production, and financial services environments.
  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building and executing against test automation for front and back-end applications, service layers, and end-to-end programs -- Selenium -- using Java or JavaScript (for back-end) and Cucumber Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) framework (for front-end); and performing service level testing in Karate or RestAssured framework.
  • DE creating strategies and roadmaps for test automation and technical designs using Jenkins dashboards; and performing Cucumber reporting – documenting, communicating, and presenting design strategies to peers and senior leadership.
  • DE delivering and promoting automated test cases via Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins Build Server, Maven, Git, and Stash; and organizing automation development tasks and testing activities using delivery tools -- Jira, Stash, and Confluence.
  • DE developing software in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP); developing automated test cases, using Oracle SQL, Java/JEE, and JavaScript; and performing test automation using Cucumber, Selenium, Maven, and RestAssured frameworks, integrated with CI/CD Jenkins tools.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using RestAssured, Postman, and SoapUI.
  • Develops applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud platforms (Oracle and Snowflake).
  • Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives.
  • Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
