About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building the next generation of software systems that enable data center operations to scale with the speed, reliability, and efficiency required by modern cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer (IC4) to help design, build, and operate software platforms that support Cloud Hardware Support (CHS) as OCI continues to grow. This role focuses on cloud-native systems, operational tooling, workflow automation, analytics, and intelligent user experiences that help teams manage data center work more consistently and efficiently. As a principal software engineer, you will operate independently while helping guide the team’s technical direction. You will build entire systems and services, drive design across complex features and subsystems, improve engineering and operational practices, and collaborate closely with partner teams across infrastructure, operations, and service engineering. This role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys solving ambiguous operational problems with scalable software. You will work on platforms that unify task execution, workflow orchestration, inventory and asset interactions, guided procedures, operational analytics, and automation-first experiences for data center support teams. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, ownership of production systems, customer empathy for field and operations users, and the ability to design software that is secure, resilient, observable, and scalable across global environments.
